I am doing well this year. With 17 days to go, I have completed all our Christmas shopping: vouchers, books, toys, jars, drinking chocolate, rolls of wrapping paper and one giant IKEA gift bag. And all done in the space of two days.
Last Christmas, I chose the boys’ presents all by myself but this year, Rick and I did it together and it was so much fun! The boys were with us as well, so I’m kind of hoping they might conveniently forget what they saw us buy in order to be surprised on Christmas day. (Who am I kidding – there is no way that Angus will forget, but I remain hopeful the younger two might.) It’s funny how Rick and I have never been big on buying Christmas gifts for each other, but both of us were quite excited about finding ‘the perfect present’ for each of the boys. Actually, part of me suspects that Rick was picturing playing with the toys himself, but I guess that’s just one of the fringe benefits of being a dad to so many boys!
Next up: writing the Christmas cards, putting together the gifts for Angus’ preschool teachers and wrapping all the presents up. Oh, and the tree. We mustn’t forget the tree.
How are your Christmas preparations going?

Hi, Ronnie. I love the thought of you and your husband going shopping for your kids. It’s really cute. It’s something I look forward to do in the future. Advance merry Christmas! =)
You are much farther than me! I am *almost* done, but having such a hard time finding the perfect, most meaningful gift for Erick! It’s crunch time!
Hope your weekend has been lovely! xo
Rick and I made it easy on ourselves and decided not to buy each other presents! :)

You are so organised! But I’m not surprised as I thought you would be! I have done my christmas shopping for relies overseas but gotta do it for my family here. Hopefully by next week though!
We have it easy I guess because we only buy for immediate family. Takes a lot of the stress out of the equstion…

Wow… all done in two days… that’s so fantastic!! I still have so much to do it’s stupid! Yikes! :)
Wow! That’s great! I’m almost done! Just a few more presents to go! This morning,, we just picked up books for all the little kids in our family and for the little ones of our close friends’. It’s a little tradition but now I’m beginning to forget which books we got for whom! Need to remember that better. Now for the wrapping and sending! Sending is always the stressful part.. standing in long lines at the post office.
Hope those post office queues are short and speedy, Jane!

Yay to having your Christmas shopping almost done I have bags here and there full of things I’ve bought, now I just need to sit down and take stock. But I know I still have a few key people to buy for. This week, like you I will be doing the Christmas cards and packaging up the preschool/ school presents.
I wish I was as done as you!! I have so much left to do!! Ahhh!!!

Oh yikes! I’ve totally stalled on the present front – Sassy isn’t much of shopper so I’m not too sure how it’ll all get done (but it will ;)…We do have our Christmas branch up – and the She & Him Christmas album in the CD player though x
(happy wrapping!)
You are so organised, Ronnie! Got gifts for most of the family. I am almost done! Za x
Keep on, keep on! :)
And so lovely of you to stop by here too.

Regan and I don’t really get each other much either but we are like kids shopping for toys for our own kids! It’s the best. Loved your IG picture of nap time the other day!
Whaaaaat? That’s not long at all.
We just moving into our place on the 19th, that doesn’t give me much time for decorating the new place.
I will see what we can do.
I am excited though. And well done you for being so well organized that gives you more time to enjoy this special time of year.
Last year, we moved into our new place on the 20th of December and got our tree up on Christmas eve, I think. At least it got done.
Excited for you guys that you’ve found a place and get to set up your new home!!!

You’re definitely ahead of me, but I’m getting there. Absolutely love how you’ve styled this shot, Ronnie. x
I’m so jealous Ronnie! I’ve barely started as I’m having so much trouble deciding what to get people this year. I’m getting really stressed about it, and quite frankly it’s ruining my Christmas!
Ronnie, I tagged you in the Christmas Wish list that’s going around at the moment. Join in if you would like to :)

Thanks Tracey. I totally empathise – I think the decision-making part is the trickiest, which is why I just try to do it all in one or two days to prevent it from dragging out…. All the best Tracey!

So jealous! I really need to get on top of our Christmas shopping!
You can do it, Anne! :)
Thanks for visiting too, so lovely to have you here.

I’m about 80 per cent done for shopping. Then there is the wrapping but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to put the presents under the tree before Christmas as the little man thinks that every present is ‘my birthday present’ and he might decide to open them! Eek.
Looking forward to seeing what you got the boys. Do you do presents from Santa or just from you and Rick?
x Laura
I don’t think we’ll be putting ours under the tree until the night before either (not that our tree is up yet – that’s Stage 5 of Project Christmas for me! LOL!). We do presents from us.

Hehe – so funny, we have also (by some kind of miracle) finished buying presies for our kids … but then last night I overheard Keith asking Freddie to come and help him choose some things for the scalextric (since we moved house the scalextric has pride of place in the loft – Freddie’s or Keith’s idea – I’ll let you guess!). I couldn’t help myself ask what he was doing, looking sheepish he replied ‘I thought Freddie would like to help choose some bits to add to the track to make it more exciting …’ … I reminded him it was Xmas in 2 weeks and that Freddie already had lots of nice presies on the way … the outcome, I am now buying Keith Scalextric bits for Xmas!!

Sounds like you’re well prepared this holiday season!
Haha, I can’t imagine shopping with all your fellows! I remember Christmas shopping with my Mom when I was a little girl… she’d take me and my sisters to a toy store and she would watch us play with various things… for a good hour, too… just observing, seeing what all we liked, taking mental notes… then she’ll get one of her friends to sit in the car with us while she buys all of our toys, haha. We never knew what she was doing either… I guess we had so much to preoccupy us at the time. :)
So nice to be able to shop with the family!
When we do it, one of us plays decoy with our boy so that we can actually get the shopping done. My Christmas shopping is all done! some christmas gifts already opened! More wrapping to go. Am ready for Christmas, just not the in between which is packing as we are moving out of our house shortly. Steph
