My friends call me Ronnie, and you can too. I'm a graphic designer who secretly aspires to be a writer. I live in Sydney with my man, Rick, and four of our five little boys. I love memory keeping, and I'm bit of a neat freak. This year, I'm learning to live more simply. I've been blogging for ten years now, and love how it keeps me sane. Grab a cup of tea, and have a browse. It's lovely to have you here.

This is my other blog, one that's close to my heart. It is a chronicle of our journey after losing our firstborn son, Cameron Angus Mason. Cameron died in utero at 41 weeks on 15 September 2007. He was born the day after on 16 September 2007. We love him dearly and miss him terribly. We will never forget him, our beloved first child.

I’m working on “less” stuff too, although I can’t include sugar and caffeine ;)
I too am working on the ‘less’. Those poppies are just gorgeous.
Working on it! :)
These pictures are absolutely beautiful and simple!

Thanks TJ, lovely of you to swing by.

Such a succinct summary of some of the things i’ve been striving for… Would be nice if it were a little easier to achieve but it takes real work and perseverance.
So true – it really does take a lot of perseverance.
Thanks for stopping by Krystle.

Wow! What a beautiful blog you have… and the words in this post resonate with me. I just simplified my wardrobe and I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders… now for the less sugar, less caffeine… a more daunting task to accomplish for me!
Hi Lauren,
Thanks so much for visiting here and for your kind words. Love simplifying my wardrobe too. I have a bit of purging to do this summer myself! Less sugar/caffeine is hard. Baby steps for me…

It is definitely an art, that’s for sure. Not always the easiest thing to do… but sure worth it at times! I am in the LESS IS MORE mindset as well right now. And I love it. I think I am less stressed in those moments… and a whole lot happier.
I love the art of less. I’m trying hard, esp on the spending less part. Have a great weekend!
I’m on a Detox so it’s less/no to everything which is a good thing :)
So beautifully put, Ronnie. A great reminder for me, too. Just reading your post makes me long for less, for simplicity. Thank you. Beautiful poppies. Hugs xoxo
Less of everything but poppies, right?! ;-)
I read on a blog once that she had had portraits taken of her dancing and one thing that she admired of the photographer that she had chosen was that he didn’t take tons of pictures. He would ready himself and click and do that throughout the shoot. This is with her leaping around. I was so impressed and I think about this often when I take pictures. I don’t need a hundred mediocre shots of the same thing, just one or two precise ones. Also, your poppies make me long for summer again.
I couldn’t agree more. I started taking less photos this year, and have found it incredibly liberating.

Less spending sounds like a great idea after a morning buying Christmas presents!
i always tell myself “less”! but my apartment keeps getting more and more cluttered.. :( i’ll keep workin’ on it :P
Less is more! It’s so true. I love the picture too.
This is a great motivation and good thing to keep in mind for our new life here in Sydney.
I find that moving is always the perfect opportunity to de-clutter and downsize….

p.s. Welcome once again to Sydney! Hope you guys are settling in well.
There is something in the lesser part of things. While it means lousy to everyone else, it could be more for you. Less means taking it easy and not putting pressure on things thus it’s kind of peaceful in mind.
those flowers are stunning. beautiful photos. xo
i’m trying really hard to embrace “less is more”, as well. less caffeine would have been wise today…:)
It makes life so much easier when you live with less and there is a few areas that I need to work on, like less stress and less distractions. xx
Important reminder. Tough to keep in mind, but important.
I am working on simplifying my wardrobe at the moment not sure how I will go on the less spending but I need to work on that too :)
I will be purging my closet again soon so we can do it together!

fantastic idea x
Ronnie, the hardest for me is less expectations… still trying!
I’m working on this too but sometimes it’s easier said than done (for me at least!). Hope you’re doing well! :)
It’s something I try to embrace in everything we do. Less travel, fewer toys, fewer commitments, and less noise from the outside world. But gosh I do have trouble applying this to photos of my children, but you’ve made me mindful of the photos bit now. So thank you!
Hi Vanessa,
Thanks so much for stopping by here. I know – I’ve been guilty of taking way too many photos of the boys too. It’s only in these last few months that I started changing that habit of mine. Huge adjustment though, and to be honest, I’m still trying to find that balance….

Agreeing. With all of the “less.” We watched the documentary Babies last night, and it made me long for a life of less and simplicity.
Definitely one of my themes for this year. Love it!
