Now that you know we have another little one along the way, I can be honest and tell you how badly I’ve been eating.
It amuses me that pregnancy books often have photos of beautiful women looking all fresh and glowing whilst nibbling wholegrain sandwiches, salads, fruits and sipping herbal tea in a ladylike fashion. The reality is, of course, that you tend to mope about the house in your PJ pants and your high school jersey whilst stuffing your face full of chips, chocolates, breakfast cereals that are high in sugar (think Crunchy Nuts), Coke, chicken nuggets from the freezer, ice cream and everything and anything that’s high in simple (read: bad-for-you) carbohydrates. And if we’re out, then it’s McDonalds, meat pies, hot chips or chicken wings from the local mall’s chicken shop.
It’s honestly quite embarrassing but when you suffer from nausea from the moment you wake up till the moment you get back into bed at night, there’s really no way around it. Even Rick has learnt to make peace with my shameful pregnancy diet and knows not to argue with me when I SMS him with my request for a hamburger and small fries from McDonalds. The only upside to all this is that I’ve gone off coffee, which means we’re saving at least twenty dollars a week simply by not ordering my quarter-strength lattes.
Thank you to all of you for your wonderful comments and messages. Your love and support have been amazing. I’m so lucky to have such awesome bloggy friends like you guys! Bring on October, I say. I can’t wait to get stuck into this new month…

Congratulations!!!
It’s funny that you are craving all this fast food.
I can not imagine how it must feel to have constant nausea.
But I can’t stand fast food. Would be interesting to see if that changes when I get pregnant.
Thank you Liv! The nausea is my least favourite part….
The cravings are rather amusing. They hit you totally out of the blue and you just absolutely must eat that thing you’re obsessing about otherwise you won’t feel satisfied… often they’re totally random too!

Congratulations Ronnie. I ate everything I shouldn’t have when pregnant with twins too.
I’m so excited for you , I hope the nausea eases off for you. I hate nausea.
congrats!!! and yeah my friend recent gave birth and she said the same thing too, her real life is nothing like the books and movies! I suppose that’s like blogging too, I definitely don’t lounge around in clothes I wear on my blog! :)
Thanks, and thanks for visiting here! It’s lovely to have you.

Haha I love how honest you are about your diet. If I were pregnant, I know there is no way my husband would argue with me! He already gives me one free day a month, I think I’d get more if pregnant… I hope your nausea gets better though!
At least you have an excuse right now…. Because I have been eating the same but have nothing to excuse it with…
Thanks Leigh, and I”m so glad you stopped by here as well.
Yeah, I think most husbands are quite lenient when their wives are pregnant. :)

Congratulations, how exciting!!! I always craved naughty foods when I was pregnant…. I say embrace it, and enjoy that pie :) x
I did!!! :)

Some days, it’s pie weather, and you must have a pie. It’s a natural law.
xx
Hi Lisa, thanks for visiting here – and I totally agree, LOL.
Ronnie xo
Congratulations to start with! And I am a terrible eater, and I’m not even pregnant! Got to change though, with no energy and motivation my diet clearly needs an adjustment. xx
Thank you Chrissie!

mmmm pie!!!
Oh yeah. :)

I must be pregnant. For the last twenty years. I’m always stuffing my face with cookies. It usually starts with good intentions of baking for something but then there’s nothing left. I’m glad that your husband is so obliging.
That made me giggle, Alison!

Love the honesty Ronnie! And to be very honest with you, I eat like that too and I am not even pregnant. So many times, I’ll ring Stu when he’s out and ask him to buy me a small serve of fries and chicken mcnuggets.
Oh, those mcnuggets are my absolute favourite!!!
Ronnie xo
At least you used a knife and fork
Haha! Very true…
LOL daddownunder! It was the least I could do…
p.s. Thanks fror swinging by!
Congratulations! You have to eat whatever your body tells you too when you are pregnant. Rachel x
Thanks Rach! Don’t worry, I’m totally following what my body is saying (demanding) just feel kinda embarrassed by it but oh well. That’s just the way it goes. :)
Ronnie xo
Haha, don’t be ashamed… you eat whatever you want. :P I have always wondered though… doesn’t the foods you crave make the nausea worse??
Eating the foods we crave helps the nausea WHILE you’re eating it… afterwards though (especially if you end up eating too much of it, as is usually the case for me), it may feel a bit gross but it doesn’t stop you anyway. When you crave it, you must eat it. :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy x i think any food that even takes away a minute of nausea is worth it! I ate only pears for 16 weeks and a year later i still cant stomach them!
Thank you Bron! Lovely to have you here too.
And I totally know what you mean about the peaches…
Ronnie xo
Oooh, get that meat pie in your tummy!!! When I was pregnant, I had lots and lots of hot chips. Just needed something stodgy..always so good! Unfortunately, I have no excuses for my current cravings…heh.
So, so happy for you!
Yes! Bring on October!!!
Oooohh….. hot chips….. I could do with some of that right about now! Thanks Grace!

This was my diet EXACTLY when pregnant with Lachie. I drunk so much coke and ate so much McDonalds it was disgusting. I also couldn’t even stand the smell of coffee. Thankfully my MS only lasted til about 13 weeks. Does yours normally last the whole way through?
I’m sure you’re a veteran at this by now but I swear ginger beer (non alcoholic of course) always made me feel better.
Hope the nausea passes soon. x Laura
Ginger beer is AWESOME. Sadly, I drank too much of it at the beginning which then put me off it but now that you’ve mentioned it, I’m going to give it another go!
Ronnie xo
I have terrible eating habits even when not pregnant :)
As an aside you are the first other person I have come across who orders 1/4 strength lattes!
Do you do that too!?
Ronnie xo
I don’t even have the excuse of a pregnant woman to eat junk food but I’m trying oh so hard to cut out the sweets :) But you just eat away!
Haha, thanks rooth…
Ronnie xo
whatever you’re craving, you should have! after all, if it makes you happy then it’s not so bad :)
Rick would probably dispute that but I am totally on board!!! :)
Ronnie xo
yes, I relate. especially in the first nauseas trimester of my last pregnancy all I could think about was carbs. pies, burgers, potatoes. gimme ;)
congratulations on your pregnancy!
Thank you Bron! And yes – gimme those carbs!
