The cold that I’d been fighting for almost two weeks finally got the better of me over the weekend. In fact, my throat was so sore last night that I hardly slept a wink. And then today I had that achiness in my joints that just makes you want to curl up in bed and do nothing. But of course that’s not exactly possible when there are three little people who literally depend on you for everything. Literally.
A highlight of the weekend was that we finally managed to take a family photo for the first time since leaving the hospital with James. To fully appreciate the depth of this achievement, you need to have some understanding of how hard (read: impossible) it is to get a fifteen month old and a two and a half year old to sit still in the same place and to look in the same direction at the same time. Thanks to my family for their amazing Asian paparazzi skills!
From left to right: Pete (said fifteen month old), daddy, Angus (said two and a half year old), mummy and “baby James”

There is no such thing as a sick day for moms! And I think a bomb would have to explode for two toddlers to look in the same direction at the same time. Either that or Barney would have to appear and do a little jig! But you five make a beautiful family…
Thx Kristin!
Wow what a beautiful family you guys have… you are all just so gorgeous even though you are fighting off horid virius!
Thanks Lamina – yeah, we were all pretty out of it when this photo was taken (though Rick would argue that he wasn’t of course)…
